My impression is that they do. My other impression, although it may be out of date, is that the Brit's lock in far earlier than do Americans. In many ways, your fate was set by 15 in GB. The other impression I have gotten from working in GB a week here and a week there, and from all my friends who do/did for longer periods is how class conscious GB is compared to the US.
