I worked as a temporary at a major U.S. corporation a couple of summers ago doing putting insurance policy info into a computer. Much of the work I was doing was to help get rid of a big backlog before the whole process was moved to India. We had members of the group from India that would be taking over the process on-site for training, and they were making about as much as I was as a temp, but they all had Masters degrees and considered the work to be very good.

I guess it all goes back to cost-of-living...
