Julia-
Actually, doing bench-presses on a regular basis helps. And it's not
necessarily the most fun thing to watch. :)

But there's a limit as to what exercise alone will do once you've
breastfed 2 or 3 kids. Also, when you're pregnant & breastfeeding,
having really good support might prevent extra stretching & tearing of
breast tissue, which would help minimize the total impact the
pregnancies & breastfeeding have.

Julia is right, there isn't a ton of escape from gravity through time.
Breasts are largely fatty tissue with some ligaments and muscular support.
Pec exercises can help lift somewhat, but the increase in size with
lactation pulls at the Coopers ligaments. Gravity generally has the same
effect over time. There isn't much escape in spite of support garments,
size, density etc- although there might be ways of slowing the effects.
Once a ligament has been stretched it doesn't really shorten again
(Ok in theory small gains could be made), this is one of the
differences in muscle/ligaments- muscles can generally strengthen/
shorten again with exercise.

Dee- who rehabs other kinds of ligaments, but some we leave to
cosmo :-)
