I think that comparing the impending Iraq war to WWII
is massive overkill - Hussein and his army are *no
where* near the threat that Hitler's
military-industrial-scientific juggernaut was.  

Or are you predicting that this will indeed turn into
a true World War?  I grant that this is a possibility
(I sincerely hope very remote), but if one thinks that
the Middle East is going to explode, shouldn't an
alternative to the probable trigger be found?

I think getting the UN's 'face' involved was/is the
way to go (even though we all know that the US will
bear the brunt of any action).  Appearance does count.
