Well, in the past some of us have tried to act as a mediator, and/or encouraged people to tone down their emotions and be less aggressive and have even tried asking people to drop subjects and threads which seemed to be flying out of control. Several of us have tried invoking IAAMOAC to try and jog people's memories of civilized behavior. No one seems to care much about the 'ding' system. No one seems to care all that much, period. Nothing seems to work. Do you have any suggestions? How does the Culture list manage to avoid these problems? Heck, how does *every* other list on the net manage to avoid them? Obviously, since most lists seem to thrive, this isn't a problem everywhere else. Maybe the Brin-L list just isn't meant to survive. Maybe we've lost too many people over the years for the list to be viable. Jon GSV Perhaps it's time to take care of Ol' Yeller. _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
