EIGHTEEN DOLLARS!!!! WTF?
I think that I have bought more CDs since file sharing began than I would have if I didn't have access. I have discovered a handful of artists that I would not have known existed otherwise. Downloading their MP3's has actually encouraged me to go out and buy their CD's. A few months ago (I'll look for the article) the RIAA claimed that unlicensed ring tones on cell phones were causing them to lose up to $500 MILLION every year in royalties. They claimed that this along with file sharing forced them to raise the prices on their CD's to compensate. I agree with you, WTF?
