Eww...From: "Gary L. Nunn" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: "Brin Mail List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: The rapid decline of the Sci-Fi Channel.... Date: Sun, 9 Feb 2003 13:55:55 -0500When the Sci-Fi channel stated that they wanted to get away from the "hard" science fiction programming like Farscape (hence the cancellation) I was worried and disappointed. But after seeing the schedule for tonight, I am beginning to think that someone in charge of the Sci-Fi channel has a death wish for this channel. The lineup for tonight is: Flintstones Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas Casper Dream Team
I have to second this message. I am sooo disappointed by the way the SciFi channel looks and sounds lately. There is really not much SciFi left in it. And the light scifi movies they produce and air aren't really much to watch either. True, there are exceptions, but they are a far cry from what they started doing. Wasn't Gene Rodenberry originally in their Board of Directors, and the whole thing? Boy, would he be disappointed now.
I remember signing a petition to my cable company when the channel wasn't in our line up. I'm close to start a letter writing campaign to get it out!! :-)
It's not much to watch. What can a serious SciFi fan look forward to? I guess, in the end, we'll always have the written press to give us our fix.
As far as that goes, I'm happy we at least have VH1 Classic. It's very much what MTV used to be, without the VJ's, of course.I remember way back in the beginning when the Sci-Fi channel showed uncut and commercial free versions of science fiction shows. But then again, I remember when MTV used to show music videos. :-)

Not much channel surfing to be done lately, right?
