I must disagree. Arnett has posted an off-list message from me on-list, so he should now unsubscribe himself, or at least have his posts moderated by the other list-admins.

Let me address a few things here.
The threat expressed in this message should not be taken lightly. It is
certainly Nick's personal business, but I'd probably talk to a lawyer about
getting a restraining order after such a message.
Getting a restraining order for someone who's thousands of kilometers away, on the other side of the Atlantic? I doubt if a judge would sign *that* restraining order.

Of course, what Arnett conveniently "forgets" to mention here is that my warning only came after I had been thoroughly infuriated, as a result of having been attacked, discriminated, insulted and threatened *several times* by him, both on-list and off-list.

Second, in light of that, Nick's actions can only be faulted for bending
over backwards too much. I think that anyone who hacks the list server
and then threatens to destroy the list administrator should be banned from
the list.
If you had seen all the threats and insults he's been throwing at me, you would have seen that he's not exactly been bending over backwards, but that he has been showing great intolerance and has been trying to impose his will on me.

It's Nick's judgment, but even considering Christian charity, I
would state that banning Jeroen is best for all involved, including Jeroen.
Utter nonsense. Arnett's behaviour is the kind you would expect from Middle-Eastern dictators, not from an admin of a mailing list. Essentially, you're saying that Nick's barrage of attacks against me is okay, but that I should be banned for fighting back.

The statement by Jeroen is very consistent with person who is overwhelmed
his/her difficulties with rage control issues. People who have such
difficulties often represent a threat to themselves and others. It is
true, just like suicide threats, most threats such as these are not carried
out. However, like suicide threats, they must be taken seriously.
Oh puh-lease, spare me the psychology nonsense. I don't have "difficulties with rage control issues", I do not pose a threat to myself, and I only pose a threat to others when those others attack me, in which case my response is nothing but self-defense.
