Hmm, I can sympathize with your reaction, but the above is how I interpreted the joke.
It didn't exactly sound like a warning encouraging American self-examination to me.
While we're on the subject, I asked the other day why it is that the use of Nazi symbols is inherently anti-Semitic. I don't mean to be pushy, but feel it's important that I understand why you feel that way.
