AFAIK, though, nobody is showing live battle scenes, are they? (Due
to various constraints, most of my war coverage has been through
radio, not TV - not that I even have cable).

Frex, early Sunday morning (US), there was a 3-4 hour live segment on NBC (at least) where troops had run into unexpected resistance and were awaiting an air strike, then, after the first air strike, they had to decide if a second air strike was necessary. Basically, no one was shooting, but AFAIK it was live.

In the above case, the "bad guys" were trapped in one location waiting to be bombed. I don't know whether they had access to the live TV coverage, or (more of a possible problem) whether any other Iraqi units could have seen it and come to the rescue of their trapped fellows . . .

God bless America,
Land that I love!
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America!
My home, sweet home.
