There's another gaming standard:
1 inch = 2 meters, at least when you're talking about hex maps in Champions...
Or 1 inch=10 yards (Warhammer Fantasy or Warhammer Ancient Battles, unofficially)
Or 1 inch=5 feet (D&D)
Or 1 inch=30 meters (bet this drives Alberto nutty!)(Battletech)
