While I can grasp the concept of "a just war," I am truly unable to understand what drives some people to seek total dominance over others. I myself am capable of killing in self-defense or the defense of others, but have no desire to take anything away from others at gunpoint. When I think of actual combat, I think of the death, the maiming, the sorrowing families and friends. There is no glory in it.
