It means that I produce works of art, music and poetry, and that I can
present these works as represintative of the tribe.

What else would it mean?

I'm sorry, did I offend you by asking this? None was intended.

If I had been guessing, I would have guessed a lot of other possibilities besides
that one, so I'm glad I asked. For example, there's a wonderful artisan community
out in western Massachusetts I visit sometimes. It's most well known for its glass
blowers, candle makers, quilters etc. So when I think of artisans, I associate them
more with fine craftworkers than actual artists. (Although I understand they can
certainly greatly overlap). But in any case, music and poetry didn't cross my mind.

The time cam for the turtle to return to the river. He placed as much sand on
his back as he could. It wasnt a long journey to the river, but there were
many small valleys and large tree roots over which the turtle had to
navigate. By the time he had returned to the river, there were few grains
left on the turtles back, and those fell off to be lost in the mud. The
turtle pondered thoughtfully for some time about his mud flour, and began to
move the pebbles from further down the bank.

The whole purpose of the story is to convey something which can not be
summarized in as few sentences.

The sand seemed to be a large mass, but was made of many small parts. The
small parts seem easy to handle alone because they are so light and, well,
small, but dealing with many at the same can be daunting. Our perspectives
our norms are not always the right one. Something that others take for
granted may in fact be an opportunity for us to learn. Culturally the turkey
has the connotation of being the explorer, the turtle the wise leader.
Sometimes the explorer has better insight than the wise. Sometimes a desired
feature of some other place comes with that placethe choice of having that
feature is the choice of moving to that place. Sometimes it is better to work
with what you have (the way things are) than try and get something you dont
have (change things to the way you want them to be).

Thanks for the story and explanation
