Two fun things I thought I would share-
www.geocaching.com
A friend got me hooked on the concept in California. Kind of like mini
treasure hunting with a GPS in upteen thousand locations. Anyone already doing
this?
Just a bit of neatness from the soggy south, Dee
Sounds fun, I don't have a GPS though.
I can't think of the name, and don't have a site to link too....there is this British hobby that is practically the same thing: a person will hide a weather proof box (or several) and give vague hints as to where it is. The box will have a note book and a rubber stamp, as will (sometimes) the searcher. The searcher finds the box and stamps his book, then uses his stamp on the box's note book. Sometimes that box will have directions to find the next one.
It's not orienteering, it's more just for walking by yourself or with family. I know there is a few hidden in Valley Forge national park.
