Looks like Brin-L was off the air for the last few hours, but I have no idea
why. All I can imagine is that my business partner might have accidentally
killed the list server software while we were scrambling to try to fix a
totally different problem.
Well.. This may be unrelated, but now that you mention it, today has been an odd day in the Internet, in general.
Around 1030pmEST, the Microsoft chat servers went down. I've become rather fond of a very nice chatroom in MSN, and all of a sudden, one by one, the people online start disappearing. Everybody was "kicked out", except for the Admins (I'm one of them). Much to our surprise.. Very odd. Never seen it happen.
Then, one of my students (Senior) who happened to be online sends me a page, and tells me that the servers at Star Wars Galaxies started doing the exact same thing. Spooky, to say the least...
Any idea if these incidents may be related? Enquiring minds... Cyber-terrorism? Naaah.. Can't be..
