We could not buy disability insurance on me. We tried. I don't know if it was state law or the insurance company, but I couldn't be insured for disability.
Were you looking while you were pregnant? Lots of insurance companies will deny disability and even life coverage to women who are pregnant, but will will more than happily take your money once you have given birth.
