Dan said the Techno-Mage trilogy was worth reading, but having read the
first one last week, I can say that the writing is not up to the par of
Bujold's more recent, nor Card's more recent.  (I read _A Civil
Campaign_ just before and _The Shadow of the Hegemon_ just after, so
that's what I'm comparing to.)
