Don't even bother with the first two seasons. Every show I watched was a
complete disapointment. This season however is true ST of the best kind. Not
Farscape quality mind you, but as captivating as B5.
I wasn't going to comment because I was afraid I might spoil some of the storyline for you if I did, but speaking as a long-time ST fan I disagree with this. No plot or episode spoilers follow.
The show has flaws, among them an urge to pander to an arguably non-existent teen fanboy demographic with teasing female nudity, but it is not a complete disappointment. The acting, continuity and storylines are a lot more impressive than either DS9 or Voyager were in their first two seasons. Several episodes in each season were excellent, imo. As you might expect, a few were barely watchable.
This season has done wonders to propel story and character arcs. I'm highly unimpressed with certain things about the last 3 episodes but will refrain from complaining.
My personal advice, watch, have fun and judge for yourself. :)
