Ack! Not the ESPN Power Rankings.... I wouldn't put much stock in them,
as IMHO they are very good about telling you who was good the last two
weeks, and not particularly useful at all in telling you who will be good
the next two weeks. For the most part, the ESPN Rankings just sort the
teams by record, and then use a little bit of opinion to sort out the teams
within each record. Admittedly, they've been a little better this year -
their treatment of the Bucs and Redskins in the weekly rankings being a
good example - but I still think it is mostly chalk.
Then again, given the way I've been picking games this year, I find it a
little harder to be as piting in my criticism of the "talking heads'" NFL
opinions.
