When it rains it pours I guess.... after going 6-8 last week my season
record is too miserable to even mention. Suffice to say it has dropped
below the Mendoza line. Ouch!

Oakland at Cleveland - The Raiders had to travel to Chicago last week,
where they gave the Bears their first win of the season. Now they have to
travel back across the country to Cleveland, which doesn't help. Without
Porter in the lineup, I think the Raiders will have a hard time keeping up
with Cleveland's fleet of WR's. Pick: BROWNS

Carolina at Indianapolis - In a battle of unbeatens, I think that the
Panthers have gotten away with a bit of smoke and mirrors - as they have
yet to demonstrate that they can pass the ball and score points. If
Peyton Manning can get the Colts out in front, like I think he can, then
the Panthers won't have many answers. Pick: COLTS

Chicago at New Orleans - In a battle between two of the worst teams in
football, I think that I have to go with the home team - although Chicago
has a real shot if they can get in front early and bring out the boo-birds.
Still, the Saints should be the better team. Pick: SAINTS

Houston at Tennessee - The Titans will be without one of their best
defensive players in Samari Rolle, and the Houston receiving corps of Andre
Johnson and Jabar Gaffney is really emerging. Pick: TEXANS UPSET SPECIAL

Kansas City at Green Bay - This one looks like the game of the week to me.
The Chiefs are the best team in football, but they are playing in Lambeau.
Still, I think that the Packers' defense and special teams are suspect,
so I'll give the nod to... Pick: CHIEFS

Miami at Jacksonville - Miami's corners should welcome Byron Leftwich to
the NFL. Pick: DOLPHINS

New York Giants at New England - This should be a great matchup between two
above average teams. I'm very itnerested to see what Bill Belichick can
throw at Kerry Collins. I'm going to give the edge here, though, to the
team with the shorter injury report and coming off a bye week. Pick: GIANTS

Philadelphia at Dallas - Sure the Eagles were once 0-2 but it si not
exactly shocking for even good teams to lose to teams like Tampa Bay and
New England. The Eagles should put themselves firmly back in the thick
of the NFC East with a win over the Cowboys whom I think have played a bit
over their heads so far. Pick: EAGLES

Tampa at Washington - Despite some highly touted players, the Redskins'
offensive line is aboslutely horrible, and should be dominated by the Bucs.
  Pick: BUCS

Baltimore at Arizona - This is a winnable game for the Cardinals, as the
Ravens have neither the QB nor the WR's to get into any kind of shootout.
Still, Baltimore is coming off the bye, and the Cardinals really are the
worst team in football. Pick: RAVENS

Buffalo at New York - If I were honest, I might very well take the Jets -
but I'll be watching this game with a Jets-fan buddy of mine and I can't
show any weakness. :) The Bills have not really put together a complete
game all year, and indeed have arguably played worse with every game. Now
their primary offensive weapon is out for the game, Eric Moulds, which
offsets the Jets missing their best cornerback. The Jets' strength is
their defensive line, particularly on the pass rush, which has been a
glaring weakness for the Bills. If the Bills get forced to pass a lot,
they will be in real trouble. If the Bills can get into a conservative
slug-fest though, Travis Henry is playing better than Curtis Martin these
days, which should allow the Bills to slip away with the win. Pick: BILLS

Pittsburgh at Denver - If the Browns could light up the Pittsburgh
secondary, I can just imagine what the Broncos should be able to do. Pick:
BRONCOS

San Francisco at Seattle - Shaun Alexander seems to absolutely run wild
every Sunday night, and who am I to buck a trend. Pick: SEAHAWKS

Atlanta at St. Louis - Until Michael Vick comes back, the Falcons just look
absolutely devoid of answers. Getting Brian Finneran back should
definitely help, and I expect the Falcons to hang a bit closer in this one,
but... Pick: RAMS
