I would classify it as more of a stumble function . . .

I'll be upgrading Mailman soon to a new version, which may clear out some of the dreck. But I suspect that the slowdowns are caused in part by spammers who send messages with corrupted headers, so I'm not sure what might transpire. I may also switch back to using our own MTA to deliver the mail, rather than relying on our ISP. Or... we may move our mail server to a Verio virtual server with excellent connectivity. We're thinking about all of these options now.

Anybody seeing similar stuff going on with other mail?

Hotmail has been infuriating over the past two weeks. A few emails I've sent to valid addresses have been bounced back or never arrived, and I've apparently not received all my email. I also noticed that two list mails (including a really long post I sent more than a week ago) haven't made it into the brin-l server. I don't have copies in my outbox, either.

I finally got around to complaining to Hotmail yesterday. It's their fault. Hopefully things will be fixed now.

Jon
