I read this a couple of weeks ago. I don't see why the author thinks that HP can't lead to other books, especially if the child's parents are readers themselves. Does he *honestly* believe that a kid who enjoyed reading the HP would turn his nose up at The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, The Phantom Tollboth, or A Wrinkle in Time? Makes no sense, though the way this guy carried on, I suppose none of those books would be good enough for him. And a question: Anyone here actually read Thomas Pynchon? Is it worth it to find Gravity's Rainbow, or is it one of those "great novels" taht are actaully kind of dull? :) Jim _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
