Neat. His endings, at least the ones I've read so far, are neat -- in the tidy sense. A little too tidy, if you ask me. I really enjoy his books up to the last 3 pages or so, and then I get a little annoyed about the ending. :)

Then it all sinks in, and I usually accept it as a good ending (if it was indeed "good") Of course I have accepted the conclusion to "Calculating God", but I was a little disappointed. Like you said, it was "a little too tidy". I just wish the book had ended differently. It would have then ranked quite high on my list, perhaps even a top 20.
