I agree that nasty generalizations about all Jews or blacks are different
than all conservatives or liberals. But, that raises a question. Are
nasty generalizations of all Catholics acceptable, while nasty
generalizations of all Jews unacceptable?

No.

But keep in mind, noting points of disagreement with the Pope or with certain bishops, or with the institutional Catholic Church may be legitimate and not a "nasty generalization of all Catholics." (Just as I do not agree, for example, with numerous Orthodox - or Reform, for that matter - Jews, and can legitimately point out my disagreements without being anti-Semitic.)

I myself have nothing whatsoever against Catholics in general, although obviously I do not share their faith. I do disagree with certain teachings of the Catholic Church, and I do sometimes think the institutional Catholic Church (as opposed to the faith of individual Catholics) does things I don't like. And, as I've pointed out, the Catholic Church or at least some people claiming to espouse Catholicism have historically in the past carried out injustices against Jews. I don't think mentioning that qualifies as a "nasty generalization of all Catholics" either.
