I recently read the last book after giving up on the series over a decade ago. The first book had such a great grand idea and everyone wanted to see what in the hell was going on. I will add that SF Channel just did a mini-series to decide if they were going to do a series. I thought it was absolutely terrible but I know someone who liked it. If you didn't like the first it goes downhill. Hugo nominees: 1972: To Your Scattered Bodies Go by Philip Jos Farmer The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. Le Guin Dragonquest by Anne McCaffrey A Time of Changes by Robert Silverberg Jack of Shadows by Roger Zelazny Considering the choices I would have voted it. BTW, long article on voting systems by my friend Peter: http://www.ghg.net/redflame/peter/swuusi.pdf I like the IRV system the Hugo uses except I wouldn't like it for elections. A choice which is all voters second choice would never win. OK for the Hugo, not for elected representatives.
