Don't know about the others, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that Finland has one of the highest average IQs of any nation on earth, so one possible axis could be general education in the populace and how well individuals in a country can assimilate data and make rational decisions about what's true and what is (politely) propaganda.
That, or intelligent people don't favor abject, rock-stupid, gaptoothed mouth-breathing morons such as The Duh-bya.
