Actually, I think that play is the perfect example (among many) of why most Washingtonians believe Gibbs can walk on water. Portis did really well there, but what made it work was the elegantly-designed deception, with three wide receivers on the right, then faking as if the play was being run to the left. That, plus the play worked because James Thrash threw a block to clear a running lane - again, a Gibbs trademark, getting all of the players on a team to contribute in the small ways as much as the big ones. It was a thing of beauty :-) In all seriousness, ask yourself this: Name another coach was has successfully won championships in two _completely unrelated_ sports. Gibb's NFL record - particularly his playoff record, when coaching is the real determining factor - in and of itself means that he has to be part of any conversation on "best coaches in NFL history". But leaving the NFL, going into NASCAR, where he knew nothing and had no expertise...and winning again. That's almost unbelievable. ===== Gautam Mukunda [EMAIL PROTECTED] "Freedom is not free" http://www.mukunda.blogspot.com _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Express yourself with Y!
