How about a lack of pedantry? I don't particularly care for JDG's condescending tone when addressing us mere mortals, and as I have a life, I can't say that I've been particularly seeking out every single pearl of wisdom dropped before my snout by His Holiness. Therefore I have not read his copious blasts of bombast.
I was responding to the implicit meaning of this phrase:
Perhaps
most extraordinary is the amendment in Ohio, which is so strongly worded
that even I would have voted against it
Which suggests to me that there were other homophobic bills he would have supported. Given the foregoing I'm not sure what there is to clarify. If there are other possible interpretations that can be made, I'd surely love to hear them.
