You live in an apartment complex. Your neighbour likes to blast his stereo. You meet with your other fellow tenants to discuss the matter. There's a wide range of opinions. Yours is to bust down the door and break his stereo equipment with a brick. Others suggest talking more, intervening with the landlord, etc. You, however, had a run-in with the neighbour before and for you there's only one acceptable answer. Over the protests and council of your neighbours you bust down the door and destroy your neighbours stereo equipment. Now, your fellow tenants call you a reckless jerk behind your back, and you smugly justify yourself that you "stood" up to your neighbour when no one else did. But despite that no one likes you anyway, and wonder when you're going to break into their apartment because you don't approve of something.
Well, almost, except that it was 3B who played his stereo too loud, but, because you had previously had trouble with 4A, you went over and broke *his* stereo. Meanwhile, threatening letters that sure sound like 3B have been showing up in mailboxes over the complex, even though nobody's seen 3B lately.
Oh, and the whole thing is complicated for the neighbors because when the complex was flooded that time, you used your F-350 to haul all their junk over to the Lok-N-Stor and back, but do they remember that now? No!
And when they ask you if they can use your truck now, and you say no (because you're taking your girlfriend 4-wheeling that weekend), they call you a selfish bastard behind your back.
And you always leave your laundry in the dryer so that nobody else can use it.
And you take up three parking spaces with your truck, two of them handicapped.
But you have a placard, because you have a cousin down at motor vehicles.
