Big difference was that Clinton's Sec. of State hadn't spent much of the first four years losing every scrap of credibility he ever had. And his Att. Gen. hadn't spent the same amount of time systematically undermining what was left of the Constitution.
I'd rather have freedom and insecurity than less freedom ... and relatively the same insecurity. And a nation whose worldwide credibility is at an all-time low. And whose bigots now seem to think they have a "mandate" to shove their cult-based directives (gay marriage, creationism) down everyone's throats.
