Actually, I the person I considered was not a child. And I quote myself:

"In both cases, there is a 15 year old daughter"

Laws give quite a bit of latitude towards requirements placed on 15 year
olds by those running the household in which she lives. Indeed, family
businesses are exempt from many of the laws against employment of minors.
15 year olds can marry in many countries/states. It is above the median
age for first carnal knowledge in Scotland, as of 6 years ago at
least....at least that's what the news said.

I chose that age quite deliberately....to not drag children into it.
Someone having sex with a 15 year old girl is not considered a pedophile,
for example.

So, lets add a year and say she was 16, and able to work in a coal mine.
Would it be reasonable for her step-father to require her to have sex as
part of her normal responsibilities at home? Would it be reasonable for
him to simply offer her privileges (such as no chores, extra spending
money, and a later curfew) without any overt threats of punishment for
non-compliance? If it were an offer to work in his business, it would
generally be considered reasonable.

The point is that there is something different about sex. It involves
emotions, sense of self, etc. Since I thought my point was rather
modest...that selling one's body isn't conducive to good mental health, I'm
still a bit puzzled by how radical that idea seems to some.
