Brin's Glory Season and Practice Effect both have people on the new planet creating their own tyranny.
My comments were naught but figurative assertions; much to the chagrin of the humorless, I'm sure.
Moving on from that, it could be argued that in Glory Season and The Practice Effect - both of which I haven't read - the characters, the 'people', have indeed had tyranny _follow_ them to their new world; namely, themselves.
