In fact, I'm pretty sure it wasn't. I'd appreciate feedback on this by those more in the know than I. (And if I'm missing something as obvious as what's holding up my glasses, please tell me so!)
I'm not any more in the know than you are, but its my opinion that this would have been a much better alternative to invasion. Compared to the price we have paid in lives and dollars it would have been a bargain, and the option to invade would have remained.
