I hope her mom's OK. I think it is good that she can break from her mission to give attention to the living in her life. I've seen bereaved parents who lose that ability, and my take on Cindy (from about the same distance as anyone else, but for Nick's relationship with her), she seemed to be on that track. There was a couple in the "Dead Babies Society" (Peggy's name for the circle of bereaved families we hung out with after Kevin died) who definitely fell into that hole. My heart went out to their second son, who really fell through the cracks.
