Cat 3 Prediction Maru

Rita is currently a cat 3 storm, expected to become a cat 4 during
the
day today.
It is just about impossible to get a hotel/motel room anywhere
closer
than Dallas/Austin/San Antonio.
Safety on Galveston remains a concern, the 1900 Hurricane that wiped
out Galveston was a cat 4, but it appears that people are heeding
the
evacuation warnings.
Here, the evacuation may not become mandatory until Thursday
PM/Friday
AM, so I likely will have a larger comfort zone for taking care of
home business than I expected.
Evac becomes mandatory tomorrow at noon.
The storm is a cat 5 now with 165 MPH winds.
I imagine Dan is worried by now.

I hope Esther and her kids and other family members get to Austin OK.
I hope Randy (Esther's husband, Dan's cousin), who is a doctor in
Houston, is OK.
I hope Dan's aunt & uncle don't go back next week to find their house
destroyed.
I hope the dog I'm taking a crate across town for does OK.
I hope the close friends of mine who are taking in family end up having
all their family get here OK.
I hope Rob can find whatever help he might need after the storm. :)
