Very true! I imagine that a woman 30-40 pounds overweight with what looks like a mouth full of broken Chiclets would have a pretty hard time getting past the judges, regardless of talent. In addition, being a tenor he also had a great piece to use; if you can listen to Nessun Dorma performed by a talented (albeit slightly raw in this case) singer and not be moved, you might be just a *little* dead inside.
