Scientists at west suburban Fermilab have discovered an odd new subatomic particle that's kind of like a triple-scoop ice cream cone.
It consists of three smaller particles called quarks. Each quark has a distinct property -- the chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavors, if you will. The new particle, called a "cascade b," does not exist in ordinary matter.
