Apparently where you live they have larger bricks than they do here, 
'cuz I'd have used a cement block (or at least half of one) as a 
closer approximation to the size of the ones I am familiar with for 
cattle.  (I have seen smaller ones about the size of a small can of 
cat food for use in rabbit hutches and the like, though we just used 
chunks broken off one of the big ones.)
