This might be a valid argument for me if there weren't more important
factors to take into consideration. More important to me than
ideology is leadership; the ability to inspire people, the ability to
pick qualified subordinates and delegate authority, coolness under
pressure, decisiveness and so on.

As we have seen time after time in this campaign, Obama trumps McCain
on leadership. Its not even close. McCain's campaign is erratic and
inconsistent. He's had more that one major shakeup in a little over
a year and he's chosen people like Phil Grahm, Sarah Palin and god
only knows how many lobbyists who represent the antithesis of his
maverick image. When the going got tough, he abandoned his principals
and tried to instill fear in the electorate.

Obama has been cool and steady at the helm of his campaign. He's
inspired the kind of enthusiasm seldom seen in these political battles
even to the point of eliciting admiration and support from hardcore
conservatives. I'm confident that the people he appoints will feature
excellence rather than political expediency and the decisions he makes
will be pragmatic rather than idealistic.
