Of course the problem with that is that the country is spread out 
over 5 time zones, so when the polls open at 7 AM in the east for 
people to vote before they go to work it would be 2 AM in Hawaii, and 
when they close at 7 PM in the east for people to vote after work it 
would be only 2 PM in Hawaii and people there who work 8 to 5 would 
still be at work, or if they stayed open until 7 PM in Hawaii that 
would be midnight on the east coast, by which time last night the 
concession speech was over and the acceptance speech begun . . .
