The idea came about after reading Andy Lester's post on PerlBuzz:- http://perlbuzz.com/2008/05/perl-decentralize-diversify-colonize.html The whole point was that is was outside of the main Perl sites, and hopefully outside a lot of the politics. Covering literally every site including those that some community members wouldn't agree on... The site could also target different terms than the Perl wiki or Perl.org, giving such sites more reach on search engines.
