You will need the full crim. check to take responsibility of the kids, and concent from parents etc. When it comes to doing 1 day type things then if the kids teachers can be persuaded to come along or someone who has had all the checks (PGCE-types), then they can be ultimately (ehem) responsible for the kids which is fine. Other people can still be there "facilitating". We recently held a 1 day thing for some of the school kids near Bath Uni. A hand full of us got 6-11 year olds all playing Ultimate (the worlds smallest pitch I recon) together quite happily, the kids did a variety of sports such as netball, rock climbing, Table tenis, basketball, etc etc Ultimate was rated best by most :p Good Luck.
