Last weekend saw the
first tournament in Colchester for 10-years
A combination of
clashing tournaments and proximity to the Edinburgh tourney meant that only 14
teams were able to sample the delights of Essex University but the standard of
play and standard of partying was still very high.
On the field GB
Co-ed claimed their first title, getting revenge on the Loaf team who had beaten
them first thing on Saturday.
GB pulled out an
early lead (including a huge layout score from Kiwi Kate for the first
point) with the big Loaf hucks that had been so successful on Saturday not
coming off. Half was 8-2, and although some great D saw Loaf come
back late on, GB held on for a final score of 14-10.
Play of the game was
a macked point block into the path of Gary from Loaf who accidentally
kicked the disc back into the air where a GB player skied 3 others for the
score!
The 4-man, 7-girl
Rampant X team also got revenge in their 3/4 playoff over Shocker who had upset
the seedings on Saturday.
The party was a head
to head drinking game contest led by Basic (beer football game) vs Rampant
(dubious sexual acting game). Then onto to a Brazilian night club for those
who could still stand.
Many thanks to all
who helped us out, especially Jamie for the schedule.
We would love to
hold future tournaments in Colchester so any feedback (good & bad) is
appreciated so that next time can be even better.
See you all at Co-ed
Nationals
Cheers
Dave &
Sarah
