On behalf of Alia (who is in Portugal): Hello All At Women's Nationals over the weekend, the Women's AGM was held on the Saturday. A. Decision taken: It was decided that there would be a 'Women's Committee' set up as the governing body for Women's Ultimate in the UK, with power to make decisions regarding e.g. Women's Tour format etc. The Committee will also have the responsibility for continuing with the development of Women's Ultimate in the UK and organising the calendar for Women's Events. B. The purpose of this email is to allow anyone else who wishes to stand for the Women's Committee to do so and to give information about manifestos C. Automatic members of the Women's Committee: Ange Wilkinson - University Women's Coordinator (and Milla Stockley in her absence for part of the year) Sally Cannon - GB Junior Women's Representative D. Other Women's Committee nominees: It was decided that there would be 5 elected members of the Committee - taking the total to 7 members. Those that stepped forward at the weekend were: Anna Choopichan (Nottingham) Rebecca Forth (London) Tara Jewell (London / Oxford) Emily Lyons (Oxford) Aura MacKenzie (London) Laura Pearce (Edinburgh - Scotland) Sus Penfold (Aberdeen - Scotland) Mel Zloch (Leeds) If you were not present at the weekend, or did not step forward then and would like to put yourself up for election - please see point E below. E. ****Those who wish to stand**** Please could ALL those who wish to stand for election (this includes those from the weekend and any new candidates that come forward), send a manifesto to [EMAIL PROTECTED] by Friday 3rd September 2004. (Any manifestos received after that date, will NOT be included). Please include the following information: 1. Your full name (and which area of the UK you are from) 2. Why you wish to stand for election (i.e. give reasons for why you think you should be considered for a Committee position) 3. State what you feel you can bring to Women's Ultimate in the UK in the future or any other information that you feel is relevant. Please keep manifestos fairly brief - maximum half a page of A4! An email will be sent out the week beginning Monday 6th September with the full list of nominees and manifestos. The list will also appear on the UKUA website. Voting will then take place - more details of which will be given at that time.
