I think the B tour this time around was 3 or 4 x 45mins + caps, then 3 x 60mins + caps.
Whilst I agree that this imbalance is not ideal, I think it has been discussed a great deal around Tour 1 that there is only so much pitch time to be shared around at each event this year. The facts are this year the venues are a little bit too small for the numbers of teams entering, and next year bids will have to face up to this. I would like to imagine that at Tour 4 this year (with split venues) we may end up being able to have more pitch time all around, because of greater numbers of pitches. (Obviously I could be proved wrong by someone clever like JP, because there is more than that to scheduling) Hopefully the silver-lining of the pitch-time-cloud is that it must mean more teams entering the Women's & B tours than before, and a kick up the backside to more people to find venues for tour events next year. I guess that changes to costs could be a fairer way of reflecting the difference if the pitch time itself is seen as a fait accompli. It would mean ending up with tournament fees being along the lines of 200 for A, 125 for B & women's instead of 160 say. Is 200 a bad deal anyway, considering it is split to less than 15 for 15 people. (tournament fees are always the cheapest part of the weekend anyway) Andy UTB PS I will save this email for after Tour 3, when the same discussion starts again. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Aura Mackenzie Sent: 18 May 2005 11:38 To: Ultimate Frisbee Subject: RE: [BD] Tour schedule Maybe we could use this opportunity to address the imbalance in play time between the A, B and women's Tours too. As described in previous posts to Britdisc, the situation as it stands is not fair. At the moment: A Tour (6 x 90 min) > B Tour (??) > Women's Tour (7 x 45-60 min) I'd be happy with whatever change in schedule is deemed appropriate provided that the following is implemented if there are still big differences in pitch time: ***Have differences in cost for different divisions. Relative costs could be determined by the UKUA according to the schedule and forwarded to TDs, who then set the entry fees accordingly.*** As another aside, the Women's final should also have a slot on its own so that others can watch. I'd say alongside the Open final is fine and people can choose which game to watch or flitter between the two. Both the Open and Women's finals showcase "the game at its highest standard" and feature some of the top teams in Europe.
