I think one of the key points backing Celia up is that Indoors is often
played by occasional players of the game, and people who don't always
read every Britdisc email. Therefore it needs a strong message to be put
out by TD's in tournaments to get people playing the new rule. We did it
at Great Barr, and most of the people played it successfully, and it
lead to a bit more thought.

Matt,

As a member of one of the teams at Women's Indoor Nationals who did know
the new indoor pull rules I was sorry to see that they weren't used at
the weekend.

I understand the logic behind the decision and supported it as what you
felt was right for the tournament. But I believe that the only way
everyone is going to learn the new rules is if they are played at all
events rather than the half way house we appear to be in. They were used
at Damme Slamme successfully and then backed out again.

There's been a lot of communication. I would now like to see us get on
and use them.

Thanks, Celia.

Graham et al

As TD of the tournament can happily clear this up.

We did not enforce the new indoor rules - the reason was simple: No one
new them!!! Of all the players in the tournament only a couple actually
new and understood the new rules. To make things fairer across the
board we decided to not enforce them. This was supported by all the
teams and was stated in the captains meetings.

I believe these rules need to have a more successful communication so
all players are aware, currently they are still unknown by a number of
players.

One of the women on my team was playing for Swift at Womens Indoor
Nationals

this weekend. She mentioned at our indoor practice tonight that she
dropped

a pull at one point and when she went to pick it up her opposition told
her it was a turnover. Were the new indoor rules not being played or
just not being enforced? I wasn't there so I don't know if this was an
isolated incident, or if the old rules were in effect, I'm just curious.
Would anyone who knows more than me care to comment? Seeing as we went
to all the

trouble of sorting out the new rules and all!

Blue skies,
   Graham
