Hi guys

A google maps based team finder is currently being developed for usage with the ladder league system. This should be online within the next few weeks. This will provide the opportunity to enter your teams location and then people can get directions to the location automatically. This system may be extended in the near future to include a pitch database into which all pitches that can be used by frisbee teams in the uk could be entered. If there is someone out there who would like to develop a component for a joomla based site that could do this then we would be more than happy to integrate it into the uk ladder league site. This would be a good project for anyone looking to learn php or anyone who already knows php and just fancies some practice.

I don't know about anyone else but I personally think Google Earth is the

Combining it with Ultimate, I got to thinking that it could be a great aid with navigation to tournaments or checking out the location before arrival. Tournament organisers could upload a particular placemark (the pitches, the campsite, the closest supermarket etc) and send it out with information
packs.
I'm sure there's more.

I recently found the Google Earth Communities forum and have made a start
(not sleeping well at the moment!).
Perhaps others will see the 'way' and continue (what some consider) my

Go here (but excuse the somewhat amateur-ness of the wording - I hoped to be
able to change it at a later date but it seems I can't!):
