BritDisc,

Now that the 2006 season is over (apart from the small matter of World
Clubs for those who are making the trip down under), I'm sure every
Ultimate player's thoughts are already starting to turn towards next
season.

The email address [EMAIL PROTECTED] has been set up to act as a
central contact point for all UKUA members' queries to do with:
  * Coaching, tactics and skill development
  * Team development and training
  * Fitness and nutrition
  * Injuries and rehab
  * Junior/school teams
  * Sports psychology

I (Jeff) will be coordinating this free service, and drawing on the
expertise of a gallery of the great and good of British Ultimate (in
strictly alphabetical order):
  Dave Grayson (Sports Psychology)
  Laura James (Sports Nutrition)
  Kev Lowe (Juniors/Schools Ultimate)
  Dr. Paul Marfleet (Sports Medicine/injuries)
  Si Moore (Coaching/Skills/Tactics)
  Matt Smith (Sports Psychology/Coaching)
and I'll be covering the fitness and training side of things. See below
for potted CVs for each member of the panel.

So if you've got a problem, and no-one else can help you - and you can
find a computer - maybe you should email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks for listening,
Jeff Jackson
(on behalf of the [EMAIL PROTECTED] team)

[Disclaimer: Be nice - we're all volunteers et cetera... I'll do my best
to respond quickly to all emails, but please be patient as we all have
jobs to do as well...]

Dave Grayson:
Key GB Open player in recent years, and has a PhD in Psychology; spent two
years working as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. He has worked with sportsmen
in various sports including Ultimate, Golf and Basketball.

Jeff Jackson:
Works as a freelance personal trainer and running coach, and has 15 years
experience of international Ultimate. He is a Coach Educator for the
UKUA's coaching scheme, and is currently writing a Fitness module for the
scheme.

Laura James:
Is a State Registered Dietitian, who currently works at the Manchester
Royal Infirmary. She has played for GB women, and has both a Masters
degree in Nutrition and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics.

Kev Lowe:
Involved with Junior Ultimate for last 14 years, coached and managed GB
Juniors/GB U17s for large periods in that time, run 8 different junior
teams and hopefully helped a lot of today's stars get hooked into the
sport when they were still in school.

Paul Marfleet:
'Doc Paul' has provided medical expertise for GB teams since the 1980s -
no-one is better qualified or more knowledgeable in the field. He is
currently involved with setting up a study on injury rates in Ultimate
players.

Si Moore:
GB legend/captain/coach with more years of Ultimate experience than pretty
much anyone in this hemisphere. He literally 'wrote the book' for the
UKUA Level 1 coaches award, and is now working on Level 2. Currently
introducing Ultimate to the unsuspecting schoolchildren of Luxembourg.

Matt Smith:
Completed an MSc in sport psychology last year, and is now working on a
PhD in the same area. He is also working towards full accreditation as an
applied sport psychologist, and is putting the finishing touches to the
UKUA coaching scheme's course for introducing Ultimate to schoolteachers.
