The European Ultimate Championship Series Committee is pleased to announce
it is accepting bids for the 2008 EUC Finals.  If your club is interested in
hosting the 2008 EUCF tournament, please put together a bid proposal and
send it to the Championship Series Committee (CSC (at) eucs.efdf.org) no
later than Sept. 15, 2007. The CSC has a budget calculator which we can send
your club upon request to help figure out the costs of the tournament. The

COMPETITION ANNOUNCEMENT
 
The 2008 Finals of the European Ultimate Championship Series (EUCS) from the
European Flying Disc Federation (EFDF)

To Organizers of Ultimate Frisbee Tournaments:
 
The European Ultimate Championship Series (EUCS), in cooperation with the
European Flying Disc Federation (EFDF) is pleased to announce it is
accepting bids for the 2008 European Ultimate Championship Finals (EUCFs)
for the open and women¹s categories.
 
The following criteria should be considered when submitting a bid for
hosting the EUCFs:
 
> * The Three-day tournament will be played no earlier than the third week in
> September and in October, preferably no later than the third week in October.
> Average temperatures above 10°C during the course of the tournament above 10
> degrees is preferred a primary consideration in order to prevent player
> injury. 
> 
> *  A minimum of 12 full-sized Ultimate fields must be available (100 meters
> long by 37 meters wide) and the grass must be well maintained. More fields are
> not necessary but recommended in order to keep the fields in good shape
> throughout the tournament.
> 
> * There must be facilities both at the fields and at player¹s accommodation to
> support between 450-550 players who will make up 16 Open teams and 12-16
> Women¹s teams. 
> 
> * A budget for the tournament including costs for on-field medical assistance,
> fields, staff and any sponsorship. This budget must be transparent. A separate
> worksheet to help organizers figure out their potential budgets can be emailed
> to bidders 
> 
> * A player waiver should be signed by every player prior to the tournament to
> relieve the EFDF, the EUCS and the tournament organizers from any liability
> should injury occur to any player during the tournament.
> 
> * Accommodation costs must be kept to a minimum; camping, gyms, low-cost
> hostels or cheap hotels should be considered when offering players
> accommodation. 
> 
> * Per player costs must be kept to a minimum. Player fees should cover any
> offered food, accommodation and the EUCS fee, set at 1 3 Euro per player per
> day (which provides for medals and EUCS administrative fees).
> 
> * Scoreboards, timers, scoring tables and scorekeepers must be on each field
> throughout the tournament.

> * Emergency services should be a consideration (although not a necessity). A
> player waiver should be  signed by every player prior to the tournament to
> relieve the EFDF, the EUCS and the tournament organizers from any liability
> should injury occur to any player during the tournament.

Total costs to teams/players are an important consideration when choosing
the venue.  Bids for the 2008 EUCF should be received by the EUCS, via email
(csc (at) eucs.efdf.org) no later than Sept. 15, 2007. The EUCS will make
its decision by Oct. 1, 2007 and inform both the winner and all other
candidates of its decision.
