What a rubbish bit of journalism, mostly consisting of snide
potshots. Probably took about 10 minutes and not particularly funny.
Would really expect better from the Guardian. Why not get someone
interested in outdoor activities to do a proper piece including some
actual research?

Barney,
Thanks for the mention of Ultimate in the Guardian recently.

continue,
Not the most flattering thing ever said about the sport, but we'll
take any coverage we can get. There's no such thing as bad publicity
as they say.
Anyway Ultimate is growing pretty well in the UK right now and our
national teams (we are sending 5 of them to the world championships in
Vancouver in August) are some of the best in Europe. Great Britain won
5 golds and 2 silvers at last year's European Championships. With the
potential to have some world class performances to report over the
summer from Great British teams it might be worth your while finding a
bit more out about the sport.
There is a tournament in Brighton on the 7th and 8th of June, and if
your interested then you'd be very welcome to come down to the
tournament, watch a bit of high level action and meet some of the
players from the national teams. The tournament is a mixed tournament
(3-4 gender split for every point) and will be attended by teams from
across the UK.
I understand that another rather larger tournament is kicking off that
weekend so if you've been roped into covering the German journey to
inevitable victory then please pass this invite on to any of your
colleagues not of a footballing bent.
Thanks for your time
Tom Styles
